Culture of West Bengal

West Bengal is the most famous state in the country, known for its amazing culture. The different events and festivals make the state more prosperous. And the most amazing part is that many famous Indian literaturist belong to west Bengal, like Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. The folk drama known as Jatra is among the most famous in theaters and films. This dramas used to depict the stories especially the stories of lord Krishna. The cinema in West Bengal is known as Tollywood which includes one of the most famous filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, who is known for his amazing films like Charulata, Panther Panchali, Aaparjito etc. Baul is one of the most used musical instrument in folk music of West Bengal. Some of the folk musics include, kirtans, gajan, bhawaiya, gombhira, kabigaan. And Kolkata, which is the capital of Bengal, is known as the “cultural capital of India” . The songs written by Rabindranath Tagore, are recognized across India, the songs written by him is known as Ranbindrasangeet.
